Rissani

We arrived in Rissani at sunset.

This town is very important because it used to be the wealthy trading center of Sijilmassa on the Trans-Saharan Trade route during the Middle Ages when Morocco brought back gold from Timbuktu.

If you didn't know, Morocco is a kingdom with a king in power, and this town is where the current ruling Alaouite Dynasty originated from.

I took a picture in front of the arched entrance to the town.
